Door-to-door sales is dead, and I'm glad. After working as a rep for three summers, I know the pitch inside out—most of it is pressure tactics and overpriced products. People can research everything online now, compare prices in seconds, and read reviews from hundreds of customers. The only reason the industry survives is that vulnerable people—the elderly, the busy, the lonely—still answer the door. We should treat it like robocalls: require a license, limit hours, and give homeowners a clear way to opt out. Nobody loses except the companies that rely on deception to move inventory.
