Hardware enthusiasts often argue that PC gaming will always beat consoles because of upgradeability, but the PS5 and Xbox Series X have closed the gap so much that I'm starting to question that. My own rig cost over $2,000 two years ago, and a $500 console now runs new games at similar settings. Is the extra money really paying for a meaningfully better experience, or are we just clinging to the ritual of building PCs?
