Do electric vehicles really save you money in the long run compared to gas cars? The initial purchase price is still higher, even with tax credits, and I've seen estimates that home charging adds about $600 a year to my electric bill. But then there's no oil changes or engine maintenance, and electricity is cheaper than gasoline per mile.
