Dedicated bus lanes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City often sit empty while motorbikes crawl through gridlock beside them. I ride a motorbike daily and I've watched buses pass every 15 minutes with only a handful of passengers. Should we really sacrifice two car lanes for a system that moves so few people, or is the emptiness just a sign that we haven't committed enough to make public transport viable?
