Cultural appropriation is a term thrown around a lot, but where do we draw the line between appreciation and theft? When I wear a kimono as a non-Japanese person, am I honoring the culture or reducing it to a costume? The line seems to shift depending on power dynamics and intent. Does intent even matter if the impact is harmful?
