Climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent, but I'm not convinced that every individual action like skipping plastic straws matters as much as systemic policy changes. Last year my town had a 100-year flood twice in six months, and no amount of recycling would have prevented that damage. Should we focus our energy on pushing governments and corporations to cut emissions instead of shaming individuals for their carbon footprints?
