Can Robotics and Automation Coexist with Manufacturing Jobs?
I've been working in manufacturing for over a decade, and the push toward robotics and automation is often framed as an either/or choice between jobs and efficiency. But in my plant, we've automated the dangerous, repetitive tasks and kept the skilled workers for quality control and problem-solving. So I don't think robots are a threat to employment; they just change what we do. The real issue is whether companies will invest in retraining their workforce or just cut the headcount.
