Can online learning match in-person education's effectiveness?
Online learning has exploded in recent years, but I still meet people who insist that physical classrooms are irreplaceable. I've taken three university courses online, and the flexibility was amazing, but I did miss the spontaneous discussions that happen in a real classroom. Yet, with recorded lectures and discussion forums, I could revisit the material whenever I wanted, which was huge for me. My view is that online courses can match or even exceed traditional classes in learning outcomes, provided the course is well designed and the student is motivated. Do you agree that online learning can be as effective as in-person education?
