Should outside campaign spending be capped to protect ordinary voices?
Campaign finance laws are a joke when a megadonor can drop $10 million into a super PAC and effectively buy a Senate seat. I worked on a local race last year, and our entire budget was less than what one opponent spent on TV ads. If we don't cap outside spending or require public matching funds, ordinary voices will never matter again. It's time to treat political money like the pollution it is.
