Body cameras were supposed to end the 'he said, she said' in police shootings, but after reviewing footage from three different incidents in my city, I'm not convinced they deliver the clarity we expected. The camera angle always misses the crucial seconds, the audio is muffled, and somehow the officer's version still wins in court. If a lens can be angled to make a knife look like a phone, maybe we're trusting a tool to solve a problem that's actually about accountability. Should a camera's presence really replace independent oversight?
