Banning plastic straws is a popular move, but I think it's the wrong fight. We're talking about 0.025% of ocean plastic, while fishing nets and industrial waste make up the bulk of the problem. I've volunteered at beach cleanups and seen more bottle caps than straws combined. Should we focus our energy on bigger polluters instead of making consumers feel good?
