Are individual lifestyle changes meaningful in fighting climate change?
Are individual lifestyle changes, like giving up beef or flying less, actually meaningful in the fight against climate change, or do they just make us feel better while the real damage comes from a few hundred corporations? I stopped eating meat three years ago, and my personal footprint did drop, but then I read that 100 companies produce 71% of global emissions. It's hard not to feel like my sacrifice is tiny compared to what systemic change could achieve. But if everyone made such changes, wouldn't that collective pressure push those corporations to act?
