I just read that manufacturing a single EV battery can emit up to 70% more CO2 than producing a conventional car's engine, and if that electricity comes from coal, the savings shrink dramatically. Sure, over a decade of driving, emissions might even out, but that's a long time to wait for a payoff. Are we jumping into EVs too quickly without addressing the full lifecycle?
