Is therapy ever truly superior to medication or do we just match luck?
After five years of cognitive behavioral therapy, I've managed my anxiety better than with any medication, but that's just my experience. Some friends with the same diagnosis say therapy never clicked for them, and they rely on drugs long-term. I've read meta-analyses suggesting talk therapy and meds are similarly effective on average, but that hides huge individual variation. So is therapy, or any psychological treatment, ever truly superior, or do we just get lucky with matching?
