Abstract art is often dismissed as a scam because anyone could throw paint at a canvas, but that ignores the intentionality behind composition, color theory, and emotional impact. I used to think the same until I spent an afternoon at the Tate Modern watching people react to Rothko's Seagram murals — some were moved to tears. The value isn't in technical skill, but in the dialogue between the work and the viewer. Can we really judge art solely by craft mastery, or is evoking a response enough to merit the label 'art'?
